Definition
Section titled “Definition”Entry context: Anatomy Steward Wiki › Start Here › What This Wiki Is
The Anatomy Steward Wiki is a reviewed field wiki that supports the Anatomy Steward digital museum. It defines terms, explains documentation practices, and gives educators and visitors a shared vocabulary for reading object records, exhibit panels, and teaching collection notes.
Why It Matters
Section titled “Why It Matters”A digital museum becomes easier to use when its terminology is stable. Visitors may not know the difference between an object record, an accession record, a representation, a specimen, a teaching model, or a source type. This wiki helps those terms become clear before a visitor reads a catalog page.
Museum Use
Section titled “Museum Use”The wiki functions as a documentation layer for the museum. It does not replace exhibits or object records; it explains the concepts that make those records understandable.
Teaching Use
Section titled “Teaching Use”Educators can use wiki entries as short reference readings before or after an object study, route, or classroom comparison activity.
Cautions
Section titled “Cautions”This wiki is not a general encyclopedia, medical reference, technical preparation manual, or open public-editing platform.

Section titled “Sources and Further Reading”Sources and further reading should use public references only.
