A public summary turns internal or detailed documentation into a concise public-facing explanation.
Why It Matters
Section titled “Why It Matters”It allows a museum to explain an object while protecting private, unclear, or sensitive details.
Museum Use
Section titled “Museum Use”Public summaries may appear in object overview, provenance status, contribution notes, or documentation status.
Teaching Use
Section titled “Teaching Use”Ask learners to summarize a record in three sentences without overstating certainty.
Cautions
Section titled “Cautions”Do not expose private contact details, restricted documents, or sensitive source information.
